Abstract Intensifying hydrogen use in the blast furnace is a key technology for significant coke and CO 2 emissions reductions. The most straightforward approach implementation of high hydrogenous gas injection rates BF tuyeres. Yet this solution has not been widely implemented due to lack understanding impact on furnace’s internal state. In paper, newly developed mathematical model presented validated operation data. next applied investigate effect overall performance state furnace. current an industrial used as starting point, increasing oven gas, natural or pure H maximum where limits safe stable process are still obeyed. All three gases were found capable significantly decreasing rate, but only allowed reduction emissions. It was that indirect intensified by enrichment partially at expense CO. Furthermore, water shift reaction increased injection, affecting utilization top gas. study gives insight into feasibility processes with tuyeres resulting savings.
